Your weekly journey into deep space

6 March 2019,

At 2:17pm today there were 3,808,951,101 women in the world. 49.6% of the entire world’s population (taken from the craaazy Country Meters website — thanks Kate Hulett!). Now, that is a lot of beautiful, fantastic, talented, intelligent, incredible, sensational WOMEN! This Friday is International Women’s Day, and while you should always celebrate the women in your life, this week there’s a push to do it globally.

This week we should take a mo to consider all women. How many women today are fighting for equality, for rights over their body, for basic human rights, and for their very life?

Men, we need allies in all spaces. Women, we need to support each other. We all should be helping each other get by in this crazy world.

Something to think about. Oh and at 2:32pm — 3,808,952,500 women.

Love you ladies! Happy International Women’s Day (week, year, decade…)!

Come say ‘ciao for now’ to Smart Casual at MANY 2.0 on Friday night

We’ll use this section to share some tidbits we’ve come across the last week from you, our tenants, and the www.

+ Adidas have teamed up with ocean warriors Parley to launch Run for the Oceans, a line of sports shoes and accessories made from plastic ocean waste. Each shoe contains the equivalent of 11 plastic bottles worth of waste, and Adidas are planning to initially release five million pairs with an idea to raise over a billion dollars for the not-for-profit.

+ The Australia Hotel in Fremantle is currently on the hunt for someone to take over their kitchen. They are looking for a candidate to chef up for the pub itself, but also there’s opportunity to drum up your own customer base. A great opportunity for someone wanting to try out a foodie idea. Costs are nominal and inclusive, and the kitchen comes with an impressive amount of equipment and a cool room. Contact to find out more.

+ Micro Lote coffee has opened in the PS Art Space! More fantastic businesses opening in Freo is exactly what the city needs. Plus, have you been to Leake Street Cafeteria inside Kakulas Sisters on Market Street — so good, so cute.

+ This week we welcome Edgar by Design to MANY North Fremantle! We’ll fill you on more from these guys once they’re settled in.
