Your weekly journey into deep space

6 Feb, 2019

Space People! Hi.

Exciting developments are afoot — we potentially have some quite magnificent studios & spaces coming up shortly… These spaces, if we secure them, will be open to big thinkers, tinkerers, artists, bangers, clangers, jewellers, potters, small bizz, slightly bigger bizz, performers, dancers: basically anyone with an idea and a need for space to make it happen.

If that’s you OR someone you know these spaces will be affordable, light-filled, completely unique and close to the city. Please make sure you’ve signed up via the Spacemarket website so we can shoot you more info as soon as we’re ready to go.

There’s still a couple of spots at both Heathcote and North Freo if you need space immediately. Email leasing@spacemarket.com.au if so.

Otherwise, thanks to everyone who has registered their space interests over the last week, it’s always great to see who’s looking for what and where.

Stay in touch and see you next Wednesday,

SM x

USEFUL STUFF

We’ll use this section to share some tidbits we’ve come across the last week from you, our tenants, and the www.

+ The spirit of Perth: how creativity blooms in a city on the periphery, a beaut article by outgoing Perth Festival artistic director, Wendy Martin, on the incredible capacity for creativity from the west.

+ This Friday 8th, Fremantle Library present Unlock Your Big Idea, a one hour 101 on how to turn your business idea into a reality. “Find out about Design Thinking as a tool to improve and grow your idea. You may be eligible for business skills training, mentoring and start-up funding.” Register your interest via the link above.

+ EOI to take part in UNIT at this year’s Fremantle Biennale closes Fri 22 Feb. “We invite expressions of interest from landscape and architectural practitioners to participate in the concept, design, and supply of 'Unit – Undercurrent': short life, short stay spatial experiences that disclose the contemporary, the transitory and the historical.“ More info via the link above.

+ There’s a new issue out of our favourite local magazine, Fabric Quarterly (Human perspectives on design, culture & being Perth). Pick up Issue #4 via their online store.

+ We want a beehive at our house! Honey Flow are offering a 4th bday special and selling the whole kit at a pretty good price to celebrate. Honey on tap for you, and a cute home for the local bee population.

+ Have you just finished an incredible house build? Would you like it immortalised by one of the best (and friendliest) architectural photographers in the business? We need a reason to get Tom Ross over here for a visit, and regardless you should take a squizz at his beautiful portfolio…
